I think the tree from the album cover is actually in Death Valley rather than Joshua Tree National Park. The front cover was taken at Zabriskie Point in Death Valley. According to the Wikipedia article, the tree is somewhere along route 109. The pictures from the Harmony Motel were taken in 29 Palms.
